Just getting through a typical day without ending up exhausted or embittered can sometimes be so daunting that when faced with some of the larger challenges of life we seem to have no energy resources left for the fight. So we let the major events take control and toss us to and fro, all the while thinking that we have no choice. But we do have a choice. We can face all the challenges that life serves us, big and small, maintaining our serenity in the process. We can even learn to roll with the punches so that nothing takes us by surprise and we stay on course even when the turbulent winds blow.
At this point, you’ve established a foundation built on concentration and mindfulness. Together, with these, you can now engage some energy to see you through the challenging times and situations that are bound to arise.
When you set time aside—even if it’s only ten minutes a day—to be still and concentrate on your breath, your energy reserves will continually be replenished and you’ll be able to summon up some energy whenever it’s needed.
This will allow you to work with determination through each challenge as it appears. It is important to keep in mind here that when you are committed to this practice, you will never be given more than you can handle in any given day. Trust that. You have the resources. You have the power. You have the energy to face all challenges and come to the other side—whole, serene, and content with the knowledge that you stepped up to the plate and gave it your all.
Once you begin the practice of being challenged, you will even come to view challenges as opportunities rather than obstacles.
You will be empowered by them and shrink from nothing. And you will grow in ways that might surprise you. But because you will be well versed in these practices, you will accept it all as naturally as you embrace the inevitability of the rising and setting sun. You will see that your life is like the weather—changeable, unpredictable, sometimes cloudy, sometimes sunny, but always perfect and just as it should be.
Seems there’s plenty challenges as life goes on one moment at a time. Thanks for the reminder that we’re never given more than we can handle. xxoo
